knaylor (pronounced kay nay-lor) designs is an artisan jewelry design firm that creates one-of-a-kind pieces of jewelry. 

Karen Naylor is the main designer at knaylor designs;  her work is influenced by her enchantment with all things beautiful & sparkly and her own curiosity with how things work & function.

Her pieces combine modern and vintage sensibilities and construction.  They have components with touches of whimsy and sparkle in direct contrast with distressed metals or industrial elements.  These mixed elements are uniquely combined to tell a story or express a specific sentiment, increasing the wearer's emotional, tactile and visual connection to the piece.

Much of the metal work is produced from sheet metal - it's hand-designed, -sawed, -forged, -stamped, -patinated and -polished in the design studio in Cary, NC.

All of the designs and components are created with a reverential devotion to adornment.

knaylor designs offers you a unique opportunity to create a custom piece of jewelry that tells your family's "story." 

Each piece is made to order with family member's names and corresponding birth charms.  Each birth charm has a corresponding Swarovski® crystal dangle with sterling silver or copper spacers and wire to match your design.

Each dangle is put together a bit differently for interest's sake and in the example shown here, they are domed for additional visual impact - this example uses textured brass, sterling silver and copper. (Metals are waxed to stop the patination process in brass or copper, or they can be left natural.)

This pendant idea can be adapted to many other items - Bible/book marks, key chains, bracelets, earrings, lots of options!  Items may be strung onto leather cording (your choice of several coordinating colors), organza, satin or grosgrain ribbon or onto silver, copper or brass chain.  If you already have an available chain or cord, we can ship the piece without that item.
